What is the NYS Clean Heat Program?
To achieve New York State’s goals for a low-carbon future, New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) and New York energy companies have partnered to offer a range of initiatives to make heat pumps more affordable and accessible to residents. Under a May 2025 order from the New York Public Service Commission, the New York State Clean Heat Program will continue through 2026–2030. New York’s electric utilities, Central Hudson Gas & Electric, Consolidated Edison, National Grid, New York State Electric & Gas, Orange and Rockland, and Rochester Gas & Electric will offer building electrification incentives, including heat pumps, exclusively for customers in residential one- to four-family homes.
